I read somewhere that yesterday was the exact half-way point of the year. Not quite sure how that happened. With the advent of July, it is time for me to introduce ordering sessions. These sessions are an opportunity for you to return to the studio (either in person, or via Zoom) and order the images you would like in print (or as digitals).

There are a couple of reasons why I will be doing ordering sessions rather than continuing with galleries - some good and some not so good.

  • Ordering sessions are a great way to section off some time to make your selection. So often, I send galleries off, hear that a client loves them and then don’t hear again for weeks. Life happens and we all get so busy. Ordering sessions are a quick, sectioned off time for you to come in, make your selection and then I can do all the heavy lifting on my side.
  • Ordering sessions are a great time to ask questions or request particular edits. Not sure what product would best suit your needs? This is a great time to go through your options! Your images will be soft proofed ahead of your ordering session. This is an opportunity to request particular editing (scars etc).
  • And, ordering sessions allow me to protect my work. With the rise of AI, a small number of people have taken screen shots of the images in their galleries and running them through online apps to remove my watermark. This is absolutely gutting from my end as the session fee doesn’t actually cover all the time I pour into the sessions. Products (digitals or prints) are vital for me to sustain my business.

So, how will ordering sessions work?

We will book your ordering session once you have booked your portrait session. You can either decide to come into my studio or we can book in a Zoom session. All decision makers need to be at the session so that ordering can be done collectively. As I want this experience to be as relaxing as possible, it is important that kids remain at home.

The ordering session will include a slideshow of your gallery and then an opportunity to discuss which images you would like. Once you have made your selection, we will fill out an order form and organise payment.

This is not a pressure sales session. I want you to come into the ordering session with a full understanding of the cost of different products. My role during the ordering session is to be on hand to answer questions and help you make the best choice for your needs.

And, as always, online banking and credit card payment options are available.
